Jim Harris has been painting in oils since the late 1960s.
In the early 1980s, he diverted to commercial photography, with
emphasis on architecture, resulting in a twenty year hiatus from
painting.
Returning to oil painting in early 2004, he concentrated on making
up for lost time in the medium, with an emphasis on color and
traditional painting materials and resins.
Recent paintings have been focused on contemporary abstract
expressionism; the work being an evolution of chromatic
progressions and practical color theory.
